Teacher: Color, Cut, Glue. Color, Cut, Glue. Okay boys and girls, what are we going to do?
Little Lovelies: Color, Cut, Glue!
Teacher: Great! You may begin.
4.2 seconds later..........Little Lovely #4 is using his scissors.
You know how the rest of the story goes!
I created some Directions Task Cards to help with this.
Print, laminate and cut them out. If you hot glue a magnet on the back you can easily use them over and over for many activities. I included a Teacher card because a lot of times I have my students show me BEFORE they glue....you know, just IN CASE they didn't quite hear your directions....or see your example.....or notice that the nose is above the eyes on their creation.
Click the picture below to get them FOR FREE in my TPT store. As always, I'd love it if you would leave a comment. Posting on TPT is still new to me!

"Teacher File" Organization
I am in the process of transferring my overstuffed, unorganized teacher files to binders. I am almost done and they look GREAT so far!
I would be finsihed but I ran out of plastic sleeves...grrrr! (Junie B. reference there.)
I am loving how organized the binders are. You can keep the paper and the example together in the same sleeve.

Monday Made It
It is time for 4th Grade Frolics Monday Made It!!!!!
I was busy this weekend! I should have been working on summer school stuff (8 days down, 8 to go...not that I am counting!) but this was much more fun. Here are my "Monday Made Its"!

| Table and Center Signs I have been eying the cute puffy tissue paper pom poms on Etsy to hang from my ceiling. I even pinned how to make them myself, but then I saw these "fans" at Party City. I made and laminated the circle signs. A little hot glue and Ta Da....now I have something cute AND practical to hang from the ceiling! (Ignore my little helper. He was very curious and would not move out of the picture!)
How We Go Home Sign
I am going to use clothes pins (like on my new Behavior Board) so it can be changed easily. (I know you have kids that go home a DIFFERENT way EVERYday like I do!) Sorry its not a great pic, I was in a hurry!

Math Freebie & Help
Here is a Math Station for fall/beginning of the year. It is a matching game for numbers to 10. Just laminate and cut and they are ready to go! Click on the link for the freebie!
Now I need your help! I am teaching Summer Reading Camp for the 3rd graders who did not pass the FCAT. If they complete a 30 piece portfolio or pass the alternative assessment (within the short SIXTEEN days I have them), they can go to 4th grade next year. If not they will be retained. NO pressure at ALL for this FIRST grade teacher, right?!!?!?!?! So I am in need of some good 3rd grade Reading apps for the iPads. Let me know if you are familiar with any good ones!

Behavior Management
This year my team has decided to change our behavior management system. We combined and tweaked ideas we got from blogs and Pinterest. Of course we had to make it jungle theme!
Everyone will start their clothes pin on green. They can move up or down based on their behavior! Being on green at the end of the day is the goal, but those who make it up to blue or gold will get a sticker on their sticker chart. Full sticker chart=Treasure Box!
Below is a picture of the Behavior Log that will be in the front of their binder. Parents will sign at the end of the week. Our goal is for the students to keep the log in their binder for the month.....we will see!

It has not been laminated or glued yet. (I think I am going to use a different ribbon.)

Monday Made It
It is time for another Monday Made It!!! Here are my projects for the week. Both ideas came from blogs and/or Pintrest. Warning: My final products do not look nearly as cute as others, but here you go!

| My Teacher Toolbox. This is going to be SO helpful since I got rid of my Teacher Desk! I am debating painting the outside of it. I want it to be bright and colorful like the rest of my classroom. Any suggestions or recommendations? |
| 2 of my "cute" clipboards. I will say these took much longer than I expected and did not turn out smooth like I thought they would. The scrapbook paper was textured. I am going to try some others with smooth paper and see if it is better. |
